FAQ's

1)   Where can I get a WebEx Meetings Account?

Provided you have a valid HUID, you can contact Harvard University Information Technology help desk by phone; 617.495.7777 or email; ithelp@harvard.edu, to acquire the access /software needed.

2)   Who do I contact if I forgot my WebEx Meetings username or password?

Please contact Harvard University Information Technology help desk by phone; 617.495.7777 or email; ithelp@harvard.edu.  They will be able to assist you in getting your username and/or password reset.

3)   Is there WebEx Meetings services?

Jabber Video is at no cost to users with a valid HUID through FY15. FY16 and beyond HUIT reserves the right to start a cost recovery model.

WebEx is negotiated at a school or department level. Please speak with your local IT support desk for more information. Information can be found on our Video Conferencing Locations tab.

5)   Where can I go to test my video conferencing systems (TelePresence and WebEx)?

Please contact Harvard University Information Technology help desk by phone; 617.495.7777 or email; ithelp@harvard.edu.  You will be scheduled to establish a test call with a live person for support.

6)  If I get invited to a WebEx session, caan I use a Cisco Telepresence device to connect?

Yes, if Collaboration Meeting Room (CMR) is enabled in the host's profile (all HUIT and CADM accounts do) then you can dial into the meeting with the provided Video Address in the Webex Meeting invite.

This may vary from group to group, so please reach out to your Webex admin to see if CMR is enabled in your group

7)  Is there any way to white list an IP instead of connecting to VPN while trying to access the TMS Smart Scheduler?

No, our TMS server is on an internal only network.

8)  Can I invite users for a WebEx session directly from TMS Smart Scheduler?

No, it will send you an invite that needs to be forwarded. It should be branded Harvard on the invite with a green button to join WebEx from a computer.

9)   I want to setup a new TelePresence room. What services can HUIT provide?

HUIT UC is a valuable resource for your video conferencing, TelePresence, and AV consulting needs. Please email ithelp@harvard.edu and request video services.

10)   How do I schedule a multi-point video conference call?

11)   Does HUIT have any demo/loaner video confercing equipment?

Demos can be scheduled in spaces that have existing Video conferencing equipment in them, due to their nature, a mock demo in your particular space can not be provided.
